AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOV- ERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUB- LIC OF VENEZUELA In conformity with the request of the Government of the Republic of Venezuela to the Government of the United States of America, the President of the United States of America has authorized the appointment of officers and en- listed men to constitute a Military Aviation Mission to the Republic of Venezuela under the conditions specified below: TITLE I Purpose and Duration ARTICLE 1. The lurpose of this Mission is to cooperate with the Minister of War and Marine of the Republic of Venezuela and with the personnel of the Venezue- lan Army with a view to enhanc- ing the efficiency of the Venezuelan Army. ARTICLE 2. This Mission shall continue for a period of four years from the date of the signing of this Agreement by the accredited representatives of the Govern- ment of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Venezuela, unless previously terminated or extended as hereinafter provided. Any member of the Mission may be ACUERDO ENTRE EL GOBIERNO DE LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DE AMERICA Y EL GOBIERNO DE LA REPOBLICA DE VENEZUELA De conformidad con la solicitud del Gobierno de la Repdblica de Venezuela al Gobierno de los Estados Unidos de America, el Presidente de los Estados Unidos de Am6rica ha autorizado el nom- bramiento de oficiales y personal subalterno para constituir una Misi6n Militar Aerea a la Re- publica de Venezuela de acuerdo con las condiciones estipuladas a continuaci6n. TfTULO I Propdsito y Duraci6n ARTfcrULO 1. El prop6sito do esta Misi6n es cooperar con el Ministro de Guerra y Marina de la Repdblica de Venezuela y con el personal del Ejercito venezolano con el fin de acrecentar la efi- ciencia del Arma. ARTfCULO 2. La Misi6n durarh cuatro afios a partir de la fecha de la firma de este Acuerdo por los representantes acreditados del Gobierno de los Estados Unidos de America y el Gobierno de la Republica de Venezuela, a menos que se de por terminado antes o que se prorrogue, segun se provee mas adelante.
