Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Leo Gullo, route 1, box 2042 Shreveport, Louisiana, the sum of $7,302, in full settlement of all claims against the United States for property destroyed and damaged when a United States Army airplane (B-26 A No. 41-745) crashed into his dwelling near Lucas, Louisiana, on August 26, 1942: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or deliv- ered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlaw- ful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person vio- lating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misde- meanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved March 20, 1944. [CHAPTER 112] AN ACT For the relief of the legal guardian of Lorraine Novak, a minor. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Guardian of Lor- United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $2,500 to the legal guardian of Lorraine Novak, a minor, of New York, New York, in full settlement of all claims against the United States for personal injuries sustained on January 28, 1942, when she was severely burned by steam as the result of project opera- tions of the Work Projects Administration: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwith- standing. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved March 20, 1944. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed topay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Willard Kerr, Junior, of Chester, Pennsylvania, the sum of $6,020.80, in full settlement of all claims against the United States for the death of his wife, Edith Kerr, who was killed when the automobile in which she was riding was struck by a United States Army truck at the intersection of Ridge Road in Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania, on March 20, 1944 [H.
