The Post Office Department shall be reimbursed annually by the Navy Department in an amount equal to funds embezzled by unbonded Navy mail clerks and assistant Navy mail clerks, and funds expended in payment of claims arising from errors, losses, or defalcations by unbonded Navy mail clerks and assistant Navy mail clerks." SEC. 2. There are hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, such amounts as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act. [CHAPTER 227] AN ACT To permit members of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Coast and Geodetic Survey, Public Health Service, and their dependents, to occupy certain Government housing facilities on a rental basis without loss of rental allowances. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That notwithstand- ing the provisions of any other law (including any laws restricting the occupancy of housing facilities under the jurisdiction of Govern- ment departments or agencies by personnel, and dependents of per- sonnel, of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard above specified ranks, or by personnel, and dependents of personnel, of the Coast and Geodetic Survey and the Public Health Service), person- nel of any of the services mentioned herein and their dependents may be accepted as tenants in and may occupy on a rental basis any such housing facilities, other than public quarters constructed or designated for assignment to and occupancy without charge by such personnel and their dependents if any, and such personnel shall not be deprived by reason of such occupancy of money allow- ances to which they are otherwise entitled for rental of quarters.
