59 STAT.] 79TH CONG., 1ST SESS.- CHS. 231-233-JULY 2, 1945 [CHAPTER 231] AN ACT For the relief of Mrs Ellen C. Burnett. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Mrs. Ellen C. Burnett, 2122 California Street Northwest, Washing- ton, District of Columbia, the sum of $393.60, in full settlement of all claims against the United States for loss of certain personal property owned by her husband, Lieutenant Colonel Frank C. Burnett, United States Army, now deceased, which disappeared from an Army ware- house at the Presidio of San Francisco, California, where it was stored for the convenience of the Government and while Colonel Burnett was on duty with the United States Army in France: Pro- vided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved July 2, 1945. [CHAPTER 232] AN ACT For the relief of Daniel B. Johnson. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Daniel B. Johnson, of Toledo, Ohio, the sum of $2,500, in full satisfaction of all claims against the United States for compensation for personal injuries and property damage sustained by him when he was struck by a car operated by one William Grote, an employee of the Post Office Department of the United States Government while on business of the Post Office Department, on Monroe Street, near the intersection of Grasser Street, Toledo, Ohio, on December 24, 1943: Provided That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to the Realty Bond and Mortgage Company and Robert W.
