Be it enacted, ¢$·c., That there be allowed to the legal heirs of Colo- sm? d°ll¤·¤ nel John Ely, deceased, who was a Colonel in the Connecticut line of {’:,;,;:“;ii’0,°:,;g the army of the revolution, the sum of sixty dollars per month for his to heir; or Col. services, expenses, and travel, in discharging the duties of physician ·l·ElY‘ and surgeon to sick and wounded prisoners of the American army,-dispersed on various parts of Long Island, from the ninth day of December, one thousand seven hundred and seventy-seven, to the twenty-fifth day of December, one thousand seven hundred and eighty; and that the amount herein allowed be paid to the said heirs, together with such interest thereon as would now be due had a certificate therefor been issued on the said twenty-fifth day of December, one thousand seven hundred and eighty, and said certificate been subscribed to the debt of the United States, and funded under the act of August the 4A2S8f ‘;*~*£*¤¤ fourth, one thousand seven hundred and ninety, and all dividends there- ’ ’ ° ` on were now outstanding and unpaid; to be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
