Be it enacted, ¢§~e., That the Postmaster-General issue his warrant on Payment to the Treasury of the United States, registered and countersigned as pro- ‘h°m· vided by law, for the payment of John P. Converse and Henry J. Rees, out of the moneys paid into the treasury for the service of the Post Office Department, for the sum of six hundre and thirteen dollars and eighty- three cents, the interest on two drafts, (including the expense of a protest, of one dollar and seventy-Eve cents,) under date of March fourteenth, eighteen hundred and thirty-tive, and accepted by the then treasurer of the Post Ofhce Department, by direction of the Postmaster-General, at sixty and one hundred and twenty days; which drafts were negotiated at. the Metropolis Bank, and not accounted for by the said department.
