Be it enacted, rfc., That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is Payment for hereby, authorized to pay to William G. Sanders nine hundred dollars, g;2’°;`£' d°‘ out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, being the Y amount allowed for a store-house, a dwelling-house, and one other house, owned by him, and destroyed the twenty·lirst of January, eighteen hundred and thirty-six, by order of Captain F. S. Belton, of the second artillery, United States army, he being then commander at Fort Brooke, Florida, to destroy the cover of the enemy in approaching the fort, as well as to prevent the said three buildings being occupied and burned by the hostile Indians in the vicinity of the fort, with a view of setting on fire the block-houses and other defences. I Be it enacted, myc., That the Secretary of the Treasury cause to be Accountsto audited, settled, and paid, by the proper officers of his department, to be settled, &.c. Robert G. Ford, the amount of the accounts in his favor, and in favor of Robert Williams, for provender furnished General Nelson’s brigade of mounted volunteer militia in the service of the United States in the year one thousand eight hundred thirty-seven, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, under the same rules and on the same terms as if the original accounts and duplicates were produced; provided the claimant give security to the United States, indemnifying them against loss arising from the production of the original papers, should they ever be found, before receiving the money authorized to be paid by this act.
