AN ACT Granting the consent of Congress to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to construct, maintain, and operate a free highway bridge across the Monon- gahela River between the Borough of Belle Vernon, Fayette County, Penn- sylvania, and the Borough of Speers, Washington County, Pennsylvania. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the consent of the Congress is hereby granted to the Commonwealth of Penn- sylvania to construct, maintain, and operate a free highway bridge, and approaches thereto, across the Monongahela River, at a point suitable to the interests of navigation, between the Boroughs of Belle Vernon, in Washington Township, Fayette County, and Speers, in Fallowfield Township, Washington County, and in the Common- wealth of Pennsylvania, in accordance with the provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable waters", approved March 23, 1906. [CHAPTER 445] AN ACT Making appropriations for the Department of Agriculture for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1947, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the following sums are appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not other- wise appropriated, for the Department of Agriculture for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1947, hereinafter referred to as the current fiscal year, namely: DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY SALARIES AND EXPENSES For the Secretary of Agriculture, hereafter in this Act referred to as the Secretary, and other personal services in the Office of the Secretary in the District of Columbia, and elsewhere, and other nec- essary expenses, including the purchase of one and the maintenance, repair, and operation of four motor-propelled passenger-carrying vehicles; travel expenses, including examination of estimates for ap- propriations in the field; stationery, supplies, materials, and equip- ment; freight, express, and drayage charges; advertising, communica- tion service, postage, washing towels, repairs and alterations, and other miscellaneous supplies and expenses not otherwise provided for and necessary for the practical and efficient work of the Department of Agriculture, hereafter in this Act referred to as the Department, $1,838,500, together with such amounts from other appropriations or 270
