Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War may, upon such terms and conditions as he may prescribe, authorize the use and occupancy of land on the Fort Ord Military Reservation, California, by the Monterey County Trust and Savings Bank, Salinas, California, for the purpose of constructing and main- taining a building or buildings and other improvements for use in conducting a branch bank on such reservation. Approved July 24, 1946. [CHAPTER 608] AN ACT To amend section 6 of the Civil Service Retirement Act of May 29, 1930, as amended. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the third paragraph of section 6 of the Civil Service Retirement Act of May 713; 29, 1930, as amended, is amended to read as follows: "If a recovered disability annuitant whose annuity is discontinued subsequent to June 30, 1945, shall after due diligence on his part fail to obtain reemployment in any position included in the provisions of this Act, he shall be considered as having been involuntarily sepa- § 733 rated from the service within the meaning of section 7 of this Act P. v, as of the date he was retired for disability and shall, after the dis- continuance of the disability annuity, be entitled to an annuity in accordance with the provisions of such section, computed at the attained age at the date of discontinuance of the disability annuity." AN ACT Granting the consent of Congress to the States of Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming to negotiate and enter into a compact for the division of the waters of the Bear River and its tributaries. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the consent of Congress is hereby given to the States of Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming to negotiate and enter into a compact providing for an equitable divi- sion and apportionment among the said States of the waters of the Bear River and all of its tributaries in the three States, upon condi- tion that one suitable person from the Department of the Interior, who shall be appointed by the President of the United States, shall participate in said negotiations as the representative of the United States and shall make report to Congress of the proceedings and of any compact entered into: Provided, That any such compact shall not be binding or obligatory upon any of the parties thereto unless and until the same shall have been ratified by the legislature of each of said States and approved by the Congress of the United States.
