CLERK HIRE, MEMBERS AND DELEGATES For clerk hire necessarily employed by each Member and Delegate, and the Resident Commissioner from Puerto Rico, in the discharge of his official and representative duties, $5,915,000, as authorized by law, including increased and additional compensation provided by the "Federal Employees Pay Act of 1945", as amended by the "Federal Employees Pay Act of 1946". CONTINGENT EXPENSES OF TIIE HOUSE Furniture: For furniture and materials for repairs of the same, including labor, tools, and machinery for furniture repair shops, and for the purchase of packing boxes, $115,000.
