INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS OTHER THAN TREATIES [63 STAT. ALLIED HIGH COMMISSION FOR GERMANY DECLARATION concerning the ENTRY INTO FORCE of the OCCUPATION STATUTE WHEREAS by letter dated 12 May 1949 [11 the Military Governors and Commanders-in-Chief of the French, United States and British Zones of Germany, respectively, informed the President of the Parliamentary A"., p. 281 . Council at Bonn that the Occupation Statute had been promulgated by them as of that date, and that, "upon the convening of the legisla- tive bodies provided for in the Basic Law, and upon the election of the President and the election and appointment of the Chancellor and the Federal Ministers, respectively, in the manner provided for in the Basic Law, the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany will then be established and the Occupation Statute shall thereupon enter into force"; and WHEREAS the conditions aforesaid have been satisfied; and it is expedient formally to declare the entry into force of the Occupation Statute; Now, THEREFORE, the Council of the Allied High Commission Entr into force, hereby declares that the Occupation Statute entered into force as from 21 September 1949.
