BY THE P R E S I D E N T OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
A PROCLAMATION 1. WHEREAS, under the authority vested in him by section 350(a) of the Tariff Act of 1930, as amended by the Act of June 12, 1934, entitled " A n Act to amend the Tariff Act of 1930" (48 Stat. 943), which amending Act was extended by Joint Resolution of Congress, 1 USC 1351, 1362. approvcd March 1, 1937 (50 Stat. 24), the President of the United 9 States entered into a trade agreement with the President of the Turkish Republic on April 1, 1939 (54 Stat. 1871), and proclaimed such trade agreement by proclamations of April 5, 1939 (54 Stat. 1870), and November 30, 1939 (54 Stat. 1896); 2. WHEREAS the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Turkey have agreed to terminate the said trade agreement, effective August 4, 1952; 1 USC 1351. 9 3 WHEREAS the said section 350(a) of the Tariff Act of 1930 authorizes the President to terminate in whole or in part any proclamation carrying out a trade agreement entered into under such section: laml^frfpn: NOW, THEREFORE, I, HARRY S. TRUMAN, President of the 1939, and Nov. SO, United States of America, acting under and by virtue of the authority ^^^' vested in me by the Constitution and the statutes, including the said 19 USC 1351. section 350(a) of the Tariff Act of 1930, as amended, do hereby proclaim that the said proclamations dated April 5, 1939, and November 30, 1939, shall terminate August 4, 1952. ' on zinc in blocks, pigs, and slabs imposed under paragraph 394 of such title, have been suspended by Public Law 258, 82d Congress, approved 393noYf^ ^^^' ^*" February 11, 1952 (66 Stat. 7), with respect to imports entered, or withdrawn from warehouse, for consumption during the period beginning February 12, 1952, and ending with the close of March 31,
