may be necessary, not exceeding $2,000, to meet any extraordinary expenses of the Senate. The Contingent Fund of the Senate is hereafter made available for reimbursement of transportation expenses incurred by Senators in traveling, on official business, by the nearest usual route, from Washington, District of Columbia, to their resident cities in their home States, and return, for not to exceed two such round trips in each fiscal year.
