JOINT MEETING

Resolved by the House of Representatives {the Senate eoiururnng). That the two Houses of Congress assemble in the Hall of the House of Representatives on Thursday, January 9, 1958, at 12: 30 o'clock postmeridian, for the purpose of receiving such communications as the President of the United States shall be pleased to make to them. NATIONAL JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT WEEK

AVhereas it was the initiative, the sense of individual dignity, and the determination to mold their own futures that motiA^ated those who founded this Nation; and Whereas.Junior Acliievement, Incorporated, through its learning-bydoing program, is inculcating those ideals in American youth by helping them to set up and operate their own small-scale business enterprises; and Whereas their experience in running Junior Acliievement companies will provide tliese young people with a heightened understanding of the privileges and duties of citizenship and better prepare them to assume the responsibi]ities of community leadership; and Whereas thousands of American businessmen voluntarily give unstintingly of their time, their counsel, and their experience for the benefit of the members of.Junior Achievement; and Whereas it is understood that the week beginnino;.fanuary 26, 1958, and ending February 1, 1958, will be observed i National Junior Achievement Week: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the Senate {the House of Representatives concurring)^ That the President of the United States is authorized and requested National A c h to issue a proclamation designating the week of January 26, 1958, week,i e v e through February 1, 1958, as National Junior Achievement Week and urging all citizens of our country to salute the activities of Junior Achievers and their volunteer adult advisers through appropriate ceremonies.
