To authorize a per capita distribution of funds arising from a judgment in favor of the Confederated Tribe of Siletz Indians in the State of Oregon, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary sn^e?z" Tribe of the Interior is hereby authorized and directed to distribute on a funds distribution! pro rata basis, to the persons whose names appear on the final roll approved pursuant to section 3 of the Act of August 13, 1954 (68 Stat, 724), or their heirs or legatees, the balance of the funds, after 25 USC 693. paying approved attornej^ fees and expenses, appropriated by the Supplemental Appropriation Act, 1959, in satisfaction of the judgment against the United States obtained in the Indian Claims Commission in docket Numbered 239, and accrued interest thereon. The funds so distributed shall not be subject to Federal or State income tax. SEC. 2. (a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, shares. Ihe Secretary shall distribute a share payable to a living enrollee directly to such enrollee, and the Secretary shall distribute a share payable to a deceased enrollee directly to his next of kin or legatees as determined by the laws of the place of domicile of the decedent, upon proof of death and inheritance satisfactory to the Secretary, whose findings upon such proof shall be final and conclusive. (b) A share payable to a person under twenty-one years of age or to a person under legal disability shall be paid in accordance with the laws applicable to such person in the place of his domicile, or in the discretion of the Secretary to the natural parent or guardian of such person. SEC. 3. All costs incurred by the Secretary in the preparation of the costs. roll and in the payment of shares in accordance with the provision of this Act shall be paid by appropriate withdrawals from the judgment fund. Marsh, the title to which was taken by the United States by the Act of August 23, 1958 (72 Stat. 816), and thereby make possible partial distribution of funds to the Klamath Indians who have elected to withdraw from the tribe, which will lessen the need for making interim loans to such Indians, subsection 28(f) of the Act of August 13, 1954, as amended (72 Stat. 816), is hereby amended by changing the ^^ ^^^ 564w-i. effective date for the taking of title by the United States from April 1, 1961, to the earliest date after September 30, 1959, when the Secretary of the Interior determines that funds for the payment of the purchase price are available from the sale of stamps under the Migratory j | ^\f^u "^^ >•-.
