To amend the joint resolution providing foi* membership and participation by the United States in the Inter-American Children's Institute, formerly known as the American International Institute for the Protection of Childhood, as amended.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the I n t er-American United States of America in Congress assembled, That Public Reso- Children's I n s t i lution 31, approved May 3, 1928 (45 Stat. 487), as revised by section tute." 1(a) of Public Law 806, approved September 21, 1950 (64 Stat. 902), as amended by Public Law 816, approved July 27, 1956 (70 Stat. 696), 22 USC 269b is hereby amended to read as follows: "That in order to meet the obligations of the United States as a member of the Inter-American Children's Institute, there is hereby authorized to be appropriated to the Department of State for the fiscal years 1961 and 1962 such sums not to exceed $50,000 per fiscal year, as may be necessary for the payment by the United States of its share of the expenses of the Institute, as apportioned in accordance with the statutes of the Institute."
