of one hundred and twelve passenger motor vehicles (including ninetyeight for police-type use without regard to the general purchase price limitation for the current fiscal year but not in excess pf $100 per vehicle above such limitation) of which seventy-three are for replacement purposes; $78,663,000, of which $168,025 shall be transferred to the judiciary and disbursed by the Administrative Office of the United States Courts for expenses of the Legal Aid Agency for the District of Columbia and $3,761,700 shall be payable from the highway fund (including $112,000 from the motor vehicle parking account), $3,200 from the water fund, and $3,200 from the sanitary sewage works fund: Provided, That not to exceed $50,000 of any funds from appropriations available to the District of Columbia may be used to match financial contributions from the Department of Defense to the District of Columbia Office of Civil Defense for the purchase of civil defense equipment and supplies approved by the Department of Defense, when authorized by the Commissioners: Provided further, That the Police Department and Fire Department are each authorized to replace not to exceed five passenger carrying vehicles annually whenever the cost of repair to any damaged vehicle exceeds three-iourths the cost of the replacement: Provided further, That not to exceed $15,000 iof this appropriation shall be available for settlement of claims not in excess of $250 each.
