(b) If the United States District Court for the District of Columbia fails to extend the term of the grand jury beyond the statutory extension period ending June 4, 1974, the Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit may extend its term for an additional six months on application by the grand jury upon the affirmative vote of a majority of its members that it has not completed its business. Upon the making of such an application by the grand jury, its term shall continue until the Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit Expiration date. enters an appropriate order. Public Law 93-173 AN ACT To provide for a temporary increase of $10,700,000,000 in the public debt limit and to extend the period to which this temporary limit applies to June 30, 1974.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That during the period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act and ending on June 30, 1974, the public debt limit set forth in the first sentence of section 21 of the Second Liberty Bond Act (31 U.S.C. 757b) shall be temporarily increased by $75,700,000,000. SEC. 2. Effective on the date of the enactment of this Act, section 101 of the Act of October 27, 1972, providing for a temporary increase in the public debt limit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1973 (Public Law 92-599), as amended by the first section of Public Law 93-53, is hereby repealed.
