Public Law 96-382 96th Congress An Act To provide for a uniform national three-year statute of limitations in actions to —- ' ' — recover damages for personal ii^ury or death, arising out of a maritime tort, and [H.R. 3748] for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, unless other- Maritime torts, wise specified by law, a suit for recovery of damages for personal if^'^'J^iong injury or death, or both, arising out of a maritime tort, shall not be 4g yg^ ^esa maintained unless commenced within three years from the date the cause of action accrued. SEC. 2. Section 3 of the Act of March 30, 1920 (41 Stat. 537; 46 U.S.C. Repeal. 763) is repealed. Approved October 6, 1980.
