Underwood (si/va minuta) i furlong in length and i furlong in breadth. B. In CALDECOTE [Chilcote i] (there are) 3 carucates of land (assessed) to the geld. (There is) land for 3 ploughs. There 3 villeins have 2 ploughs and 1 2 acres of meadow. In King Edward's time it was worth 40 shillings ; now (it is worth) 10 shillings. This belongs to Cliftune [Clifton Camp- ville] in Staffordshire (Stadford). S. In ENGLEBI [Ingleby] (there are) 3 bo- vates of land (assessed) to the geld. (There is) land for 4 oxen." In BADEQUELLA [Bakewell] with (its) 8 berewicks King Edward had 1 8 carucates of land (assessed) to the geld. (There is) land for 1 8 ploughs. There the king has now in demesne 4 ploughs ; .and 1 8 villeins have 5 ploughs. (There is) land for 22 ploughs.
