After King Charles's restoration, 29 May, 1660, an Act was passed restoring to their benefices all clergy who had been deprived since the rebellion began, if they were not concerned in the king's death or Ana- baptists ; and Calamy^ gives the number of those who were by their re- institution deprived in Norfolk, together with those deprived by the Act of Uniformity of 1662, as sixty-three, and gives nine who afterwards conformed. This is a considerably smaller number than that of those ejected during the Commonwealth ; even of these many are described as silenced, but no bene- fice was held by them.
