To Okuma Sangi Esq.

Dear Sir,

The small engine and saws which we have at present in our yard were ordered by authority of (illegible text) (illegible text) especially for the light house department and I have already given you my opinion regarding their value to us.

If you give me definite orders to send them to another department I, of course, shall be bound to obey, but I think such orders will be very hard (illegible text) our department.

Especially as mentioned in my last letter a saw mill in perfect working order with engine (illegible text) complete can be procured in Yokohama for 1,200 dollars, or several such machines the property of the Government exist in Yokoska
