the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods. 10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. 11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. 12 Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. PSALM 98.

A Psalm.

O sing to the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. 2 The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shown in the sight of the heathen. [2] 3 He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. 5 Sing to the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. 6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King. 7 Let the sea roar, and all it containeth; the world, and they that dwell in it. [3] 8 Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together 9 Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

PSALM 99.

The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he setteth between the cherubim; let the earth be moved. [4] 2 The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all people. 3 Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy. 4 The king’s strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob. 5 Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy. [5]
6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them. 7 He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them. 8 Thou didst answer them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance on their evil deeds. 9 Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

PSALM 100.

A Psalm of praise.

Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all ye lands. [6] [7] 2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. [8] 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful to him, and bless his name. 5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. [9]

PSALM 101.

A Psalm of David.

I will sing of mercy and judgment: to thee, O LORD, will I sing. 2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. 3 I will set no wicked thing before my eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. [10] 4 A perverse heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person . 5 Whoever secretly slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart I will not endure. 6 My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me. [11] 7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight. [12] 8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all who practise wickedness from the city of the LORD.

PSALM 102.

A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before the LORD.

Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come to thee. [13] 2 Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thy ear to me: in the day when I call answer me speedily. 3 For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth. [14] 4 My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread. 5 By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin. [15] 6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert. 7 I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the housetop.
