5. The ſame church holds Chiſeldene. It was aſſeſſed T.R.E. at 40 hides. There are 22 ploughlands. Seventeen of theſe hides are in demeſne, where are 5 ploughlands and 6 ſervants. Forty-five villagers and 13 borderers occupy 10 ploughlands. The mill pays 40 pence. Here are 40 acres of meadow. The paſture is 3 quarters of a mile long, and half a mile broad. The wood is 3 furlongs in length and 2 broad. It was valued at 18 pounds; now at 24 pounds. Six burgeſſes in Crichelade belong to this manor, and pay 4 ſhillings and 1 penny.
