2. The ſame church holds Newetone. It was aſſeſſed T.R.E. at 13 hides and a half, and half a yardland. Three hides are in demeſne, where are 2 ploughlands and 4 ſervants. Thirteen villagers and 16 cottagers occupy 5 ploughlands. The whole manor can cultivate 10 ploughlands. The mill pays 12 ſhillings and ſixpence. Here are 30 acres of meadow. The paſture is half a mile long, and a quarter broad. The wood is a mile and a half ſquare. The abbeſs has given 3 hides and a half, and half a yardland of the lands of the holders, to a military man, and he has 1 ploughlands, and his villagers occupy 1 ploughland. Aluric the huntſman held a hide, and a yardland and a half, of this manor, of the abbeſs, upon condition that after her deceaſe it ſhould again return to the church, becauſe it was part of the demeſne. Richard Sturmid now holds it. The whole manor was valued at 14 pounds; now at 18.

3. The
