One hide and a half is in demeſne, where are the 2 ploughlands, with 1 villager, 3 borderers, and 2 cottagers. The mill pays 10 ſhillings. Here are 8 acres of meadow, and 16 acres of paſture. It was valued at 20 ſhillings; now at 40. They who formerly held them, were at liberty to go wherever they pleaſed.

33. Turchitil holds 1 hide of land of Edward in Hertham, Two military men held it T.R.E. and it was aſſeſed at ſo much. Here are 6 oxgangs; and there is 1 ploughland with 1 ſervant and 4 cottagers. Here are 4 acres of meadow, and 12 acres of paſture. It was valued at 10 ſhillings; now at 15.
