Here are two mills of the value of 8 ſhillings and ſixpence, and 32 acres of meadow, and 1 hide of paſture, being 3 miles ſquare. This manor, with it's appendages, pays 30 pounds by weight. But the Engliſh value it at 31 pounds by tale. The Abbey of St. Stephen at Caen poſſeſſes the church of this manor with 3 hides, wherein are 5 ploughlands. Three villagers and 6 cottagers occupy theſe lands, and they are worth 7 pounds. Edgar holds the church of Paveſhou, which adjoins to this manor; and his father held h before him. It is worth 5 ſhillings.

12. The King holds Melcheſham. Earl Harold held it, and, with it's appendages, it was aſſeſſed at 84 hides. Here are 60 ploughlands. Thirty-four of theſe hides are in demeſne, wherein are 19 ploughlands, and 35 ſervants, and 31 coliberts. Ninety-two vil-
