SHEPHERD, Elizabeth Lee, (Mrs. R. D.), born in Savannah, Georgia, September 26, 1876, daughter of Gen. W. W. and Mrs. Susan Hardee Kirkland, niece of the famous General William Hardee, who was commandant of West Point at the beginning of the Civil War and host to the then Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII of England. Married to Rezin Davis Shepherd of Shepherdstown, W. Va. At one time actress (stage name Odette Tyler), with Charles Frohman of New York. Has written many short stories, also several books and plays.
