Walter D. Plowden is a known associate of Harriet Tubman during the war, and other transcriptions read "Plowden" on this page. I can't see it though, and instead read "Plown" as an abbreviated form. Another eye would be helpful. Prosody (talk) 04:46, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
