Error regarding "下" edit

The image and transcription says:

[...] and 下 hea, “beneath,” [...]

However, as far as I know, the pronunciation of 下 is wrongfully represented here by "hea", instead it should become "xia". Of course, the image (scan) is as it is, but in the transcription there could be a mention of the possible error alongside a correction, perhaps in a footnote?

Interestingly enough, I found the same "hea" in an almost identical yet slightly differing edition of Encyclopædia Britannica. In other sources, I have come across the romanization "shiah" or "hsia", but this is still far of from "hea".

Please notify me if I have misunderstood something in my analysis. (Vincent Mia Edie Verheyen (talk) 11:42, 3 December 2016 (UTC))Reply

This book predates Pinyin romanization. In most cases we'd leave it as it is, an artifact of the time it's from. Prosody (talk) 23:41, 28 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
