Quotation from Hudibras

Of the six verses quoted from Hudibras, Part 3, Canto 1, 3 to 6 are a direct quote but the first two have been altered, presumably by the author to better suit his need. The first edition of part 3, published in 1678 has (italics in original):—

Besides the joys of Place and Birth,
The Sexes Paradise on Earth.

As does the transcribed version on Wikisource that is linked to, rather than Harris's version:—

To us the joys of Place and Birth
Are the chief Paradise on Earth:
