"Genius" was translated in its latin sense of spirit of the nation or family;
bevorsteht edit
Bevorstehen is a simple verb requiring a complex translation. The idea to be "near at hand" or to be "immanent" is awkward as the construction include two clauses. I chose "foretelling the approach".

Another verb without an easy equivalent. Often translated as "is veneered", I chose "is decorative appearance"
Feder edit
Novalis used "Feder" on page 150 of this essay within these collected works in fragment 10. Both seem to function as a metonymy for someone who uses a feather, or rather a feather pen. In fragment 10, I translated it as author, since it was next to presses. Here, Novalis seems to be sustaining a more musical analogy, so I used the word composer, which could also be used in writing too. --Wtfiv (talk) 23:45, 20 November 2020 (UTC)

Parallel to my other translation this should be rendered as "this the smaller", but this seemed too cryptic, so I added an additional word "this [organizes] the smaller". It uses the semantics of the additional word to clarify that syntax alone makes clear in German. The English really lacked the syntactic parallelism that would've made this more clear.
