Page talk:Points of friction.djvu/136

@Londonjackbooks: Another one that is so easy to miss, stem for stern, and it is difficult to search for other examples. My site search was limited the other Repplier texts by, for example, plugging in "stem friction.djvu". I only my caught the error when the font changed after I saved; I pick my monotype and san-serif to reveal scannos: kerning, a dot in the zero, l/I/1, that sort of thing.

Anyway—while I have your attention—do you know if there an established way to disambiguate court decisions like The Benefactor? CYGNIS INSIGNIS 13:43, 12 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Cygnis insignis: I believe it is to use the case number following; so, The Benefactor (102 U.S. 214) (see also Clark v. United States disambiguation page for precedent). Curiously, the ping didn't work for me. Londonjackbooks (talk) 14:22, 12 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
There is also The Benefactor (103 U.S. 239). Londonjackbooks (talk) 14:36, 12 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Ta. I was thinking of doing a list of Repplier's essay titles, like you did with story titles at Stockton. CYGNIS INSIGNIS 15:34, 12 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
I've thought about alphabetizing Stockton's stories.

While I have your ear, at your leisure, would you mind looking over an article I recently added to WP and offer any suggestions/criticism? Wording, structure, etc. I plan on nominating the pamphlet as WS FT for next year. Wish I had more background info, but what is there should hopefully suffice. Thanks, Londonjackbooks (talk) 15:59, 12 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

A link to the review? CYGNIS INSIGNIS 17:58, 12 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Oh. I linked to it above under "an article", but it is w:Pro Patria (Coates). Thanks, Londonjackbooks (talk) 18:41, 12 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Apologies. I had a look at the article. I wondered if a link to the review in Book News Monthly was possible. CYGNIS INSIGNIS 02:56, 13 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
The review is hosted here at WS (Florence Earle Coates (Ring)). I have added a link to it at WP, correctly or not. Thanks for taking a look. Londonjackbooks (talk) 04:19, 13 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
P.S. Incidentally, the same review/article that I learned of Ms. Repplier. Londonjackbooks (talk) 10:31, 13 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
