The wikilinks for Simpson, 'Praying Wheel', and Jevons, 'Introduction to Religion', are correct: William Simpson, The Buddhist Praying Wheel (New York: Macmillan, 1896), and Frank Byron Jevons, An Introduction to the History of Religion (London: Methuen, 1896). I checked the pages on the Internet Archive and they both discuss the circumambulation of poles.
