There seems to be some text that is missing from this work, even though page numbers are in order. I was reading about Nansen's expedition and came across the unreconciled hws. Your version seems to have more content than the other (linked above), but it does seem that the publishers left a hole in the text. Londonjackbooks (talk) 11:15, 29 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I noticed that :( The index is out on some of the entries I checked, maybe that is why. I think you are right, the copy is in error (not the scan). Google restricted my view, I'll look around and see what is available. CYGNIS INSIGNIS 13:25, 29 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

At least it's a copy error. Your responsibility is to faithfully transcribe... But a shame some info is omitted. I was happily transcribing the Poems of Gerard Manley Hopkins, when I found a couple pages were missing (scan omission). No other copy available online. Had to abandon (for now). First editions (as hosted here) for sale online sell in the thousands (of dollars). I have thought to email the booksellers and request scans of the missing pages if they are willing. Have procrastinated on that. Londonjackbooks (talk) 14:07, 29 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Glory be to God for dappled things...
So far, two out of three booksellers are not willing to "accommodate" in my request for scans of missing Hopkins Poems pages. Kind of figured, but you never know. Have contacted the library that is mentioned at Archive.org, but still no response. Next resort would be to (more thoroughly) comb through Worldcat and find libraries that hold the first edition. It is listed at Worldcat, but when you dig deeper, the libraries associated with the citation actually have later editions. There were only 750 copies made of the 1918 work, and the second edition was published in 1930. Starting to ramble now, but thought to update you on my amateur quest. There is A Concordance of the Poetry in English of Gerard Manley Hopkins (1969). 780pp. Someone was dedicated. Londonjackbooks (talk) 00:10, 2 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
