TWO STANZAS.
Seem I beyond thy reach of eye
Or lip, mailed in the arrogance
Of life?—O friend, withhold no glance
Of love or word of courtesy!

Ponder with carefulness, and own
All win as thou—are as thou art—
Think of the beggar in the heart—
Think what the silent stars have known.
