Portal:License documents
License documents are documents outlining permissions for the use of a service. They are often legal documents establishing the legal limits within which the service can be used. On Wikisource, there is a particular focus on licenses to copy and/or modify written works, but other license documents can also be listed in this portal.
Note that license documents are not covered by the license that they contain, unless explicitly released under that license by the document's author. For example, the text of the GNU General Public License is fully copyrighted and cannot be hosted on Wikisource, but the authors of the Creative Commons licenses have released the text of those licenses into the public domain. The authors of the Apache License, Version 2.0 have released the text of that license under the Apache License, Version 2.0; this is an unusual example.
