| In the name of God, the Almighty, the Most Merciful. | Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi | |
| 023:001 | The believers are indeed successful. | Qad aflaha almu/minoona |
| 023:002 | Those who are humble in their contact-method. | Allatheena hum fee salatihim khashiAAoona |
| 023:003 | And they abstain from vain talk. | Waallatheena hum AAani allaghwi muAAridoona |
| 023:004 | And they are active towards betterment. | Waallatheena hum lilzzakati faAAiloona |
| 023:005 | And they cover their private parts. | Waallatheena hum lifuroojihim hafithoona |
| 023:006 | Except around their mates, or those who are their dependants, they are free from blame. | Illa AAala azwajihim aw ma malakat aymanuhum fa-innahum ghayru maloomeena |
| 023:007 | But whosoever seeks anything beyond this, then these are the transgressors. | Famani ibtagha waraa thalika faola-ika humu alAAadoona |
| 023:008 | And those who are true to what they have been entrusted and their pledges. | Waallatheena hum li-amanatihim waAAahdihim raAAoona |
| 023:009 | And those who maintain the contact-methods. | Waallatheena hum AAala salawatihim yuhafithoona |
| 023:010 | These are the inheritors. | Ola-ika humu alwarithoona |
| 023:011 | The ones who shall inherit Paradise, in it they will abide. | Allatheena yarithoona alfirdawsa hum feeha khalidoona |
| 023:012 | We have created mankind from a structure derived from mud. | Walaqad khalaqna al-insana min sulalatin min teenin |
| 023:013 | Then We made him a seed in a safe lodging. | Thumma jaAAalnahu nutfatan fee qararin makeenin |
| 023:014 | Then We created the seed into an embryo, then We created the embryo into a fetus, then We created the fetus into bone, then We covered the bone with flesh, then We brought forth a new creation. So glory be to God, the best of creators. | Thumma khalaqna alnnutfata AAalaqatan fakhalaqna alAAalaqata mudghatan fakhalaqna almudghata AAithaman fakasawna alAAithama lahman thumma ansha/nahu khalqan akhara fatabaraka Allahu ahsanu alkhaliqeena |
| 023:015 | Then after that, you will die. | Thumma innakum baAAda thalika lamayyitoona |
| 023:016 | Then you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. | Thumma innakum yawma alqiyamati tubAAathoona |
| 023:017 | And We have created above you seven passageways, and We were never unaware of the creations. | Walaqad khalaqna fawqakum sabAAa tara-iqa wama kunna AAani alkhalqi ghafileena |
| 023:018 | And We sent down from the sky water in due measure, then We let it reside in the land, and We are capable of taking it away. | Waanzalna mina alssama-i maan biqadarin faaskannahu fee al-ardi wa-inna AAala thahabin bihi laqadiroona |
| 023:019 | So We brought forth for you gardens of palm trees and grapes, for which you will find many fruits and from it you will eat. | Faansha/na lakum bihi jannatin min nakheelin waaAAnabin lakum feeha fawakihu katheeratun waminha ta/kuloona |
| 023:020 | And a tree which emerges from the mount of Sinai, it grows oil and is a relish for those who eat. | Washajaratan takhruju min toori saynaa tanbutu bialdduhni wasibghin lilakileena |
| 023:021 | And in the livestock are lessons for you. We give you to drink from what is in its bellies, and you have many other benefits from them, and of them you eat. | Wa-inna lakum fee al-anAAami laAAibratan nusqeekum mimma fee butooniha walakum feeha manafiAAu katheeratun waminha ta/kuloona |
| 023:022 | And on them and on the ships you are carried. | WaAAalayha waAAala alfulki tuhmaloona |

| 023:023 | And We have sent Noah to his people, so he said: "O my people, serve God, you have no other god besides Him. Will you not take heed?" | Walaqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoona |
| 023:024 | But the leaders who rejected from among his people said: "What is this but a human like you? He wants to make himself better than you! And if it was indeed God's will, He would have sent down Angels. We did not hear such a thing among our fathers of old." | Faqala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi ma hatha illa basharun mithlukum yureedu an yatafaddala AAalaykum walaw shaa Allahu laanzala mala-ikatan ma samiAAna bihatha fee aba-ina al-awwaleena |
| 023:025 | "He is no more than a man who has madness in him. So keep watch on him for a while." | In huwa illa rajulun bihi jinnatun fatarabbasoo bihi hatta heenin |
| 023:026 | He said: "My Lord, grant me victory for what they denied me." | Qala rabbi onsurnee bima kaththabooni |
| 023:027 | So We inspired him: "Construct the Ship under Our eyes and Our inspiration. Then, when Our command comes and the volcano erupts, then you shall take on the Ship two from every pair and your family, except for those of them upon whom the word has come. And do not address Me regarding those who have done wrong, for they will be drowned." | Faawhayna ilayhi ani isnaAAi alfulka bi-aAAyunina wawahyina fa-itha jaa amruna wafara alttannooru faosluk feeha min kullin zawjayni ithnayni waahlaka illa man sabaqa AAalayhi alqawlu minhum wala tukhatibnee fee allatheena thalamoo innahum mughraqoona |
| 023:028 | So when you and those who are with you have embarked on the ship, then Say: "All praise is due to God who has saved us from the wicked people." | Fa-itha istawayta anta waman maAAaka AAala alfulki faquli alhamdu lillahi allathee najjana mina alqawmi alththalimeena |
| 023:029 | And Say: "My Lord, cause me to embark upon a blessed place, for You are the best for those who embark." | Waqul rabbi anzilnee munzalan mubarakan waanta khayru almunzileena |
| 023:030 | In this are signs, and We will always test. | Inna fee thalika laayatin wa-in kunna lamubtaleena |
| 023:031 | Then We raised after them a different generation. | Thumma ansha/na min baAAdihim qarnan akhareena |
| 023:032 | So We sent a messenger to them from amongst them: "Serve God, you have no other god besides Him. Will you not take heed?" | Faarsalna feehim rasoolan minhum ani oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoona |

| 023:033 | And the leaders from amongst his people who rejected and denied the meeting of the Hereafter; and We indulged them in this worldly life; said: "What is this but a human like you? He eats from what you eat and he drinks from what you drink." | Waqala almalao min qawmihi allatheena kafaroo wakaththaboo biliqa-i al-akhirati waatrafnahum fee alhayati alddunya ma hatha illa basharun mithlukum ya/kulu mimma ta/kuloona minhu wayashrabu mimma tashraboona |
| 023:034 | "And if you obey a human like you, then you will indeed be losers." | Wala-in ataAAtum basharan mithlakum innakum ithan lakhasiroona |
| 023:035 | "Does he promise you that if you die and become dust and bones that you will be brought out?" | AyaAAidukum annakum itha mittum wakuntum turaban waAAithaman annakum mukhrajoona |
| 023:036 | "Far fetched is what you are being promised." | Hayhata hayhata lima tooAAadoona |
| 023:037 | "There is nothing but our worldly life, we die and we live, and we will not be resurrected." | In hiya illa hayatuna alddunya namootu wanahya wama nahnu bimabAAootheena |
| 023:038 | "He is but a man who has invented a lie against God, and we will not believe in him." | In huwa illa rajulun iftara AAala Allahi kathiban wama nahnu lahu bimu/mineena |
| 023:039 | He said: "My Lord, grant me victory for what they denied me." | Qala rabbi onsurnee bima kaththabooni |
| 023:040 | He replied: "In a little while they will be in regret." | Qala AAamma qaleelin layusbihunna nadimeena |
| 023:041 | So the scream took them with justice, and We made them as dead plants. So away with the wicked people. | Faakhathat-humu alssayhatu bialhaqqi fajaAAalnahum ghuthaan fabuAAdan lilqawmi alththalimeena |
| 023:042 | Then We raised after them different generations. | Thumma ansha/na min baAAdihim quroonan akhareena |
| 023:043 | No nation can hasten its appointed time, nor can it delay. | Ma tasbiqu min ommatin ajalaha wama yasta/khiroona |
| 023:044 | Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation their messenger, they denied him. So We made them follow one another, and We made them history. So away with a people who do not believe! | Thumma arsalna rusulana tatra kulla ma jaa ommatan rasooluha kaththaboohu faatbaAAna baAAdahum baAAdan wajaAAalnahum ahadeetha fabuAAdan liqawmin la yu/minoona |
| 023:045 | Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a clear authority. | Thumma arsalna moosa waakhahu haroona bi-ayatina wasultanin mubeenin |
| 023:046 | To Pharaoh and his leaders. But they became arrogant, for they were a high and mighty people. | Ila firAAawna wamala-ihi faistakbaroo wakanoo qawman AAaleena |
| 023:047 | So they said: "Shall we believe to two humans like us, while their people are servants to us?" | Faqaloo anu/minu libasharayni mithlina waqawmuhuma lana AAabidoona |
| 023:048 | So they denied them, and they became of those who were destroyed. | Fakaththaboohuma fakanoo mina almuhlakeena |
| 023:049 | And We have given Moses the Scripture, so that they may be guided. | Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba laAAallahum yahtadoona |
| 023:050 | And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and We gave them refuge on high ground, a place for resting and with a flowing stream. | WajaAAalna ibna maryama waommahu ayatan waawaynahuma ila rabwatin thati qararin wamaAAeenin |

| 023:051 | "O messengers, eat from what is good, and do righteous work. I am aware of what you do." | Ya ayyuha alrrusulu kuloo mina alttayyibati waiAAmaloo salihan innee bima taAAmaloona AAaleemun |
| 023:052 | "And this is your nation, one nation, and I am your Lord so be aware." | Wa-inna hathihi ommatukum ommatan wahidatan waana rabbukum faittaqooni |
| 023:053 | But the affair was disputed between them into segments. Every group happy with what it had. | FataqattaAAoo amrahum baynahum zuburan kullu hizbin bima ladayhim farihoona |
| 023:054 | So leave them in their error until a time. | Fatharhum fee ghamratihim hatta heenin |
| 023:055 | Do they not think why We are extending them with wealth and children? | Ayahsaboona annama numidduhum bihi min malin wabaneena |
| 023:056 | We are quick to give them the good things. But they do not perceive. | NusariAAu lahum fee alkhayrati bal la yashAAuroona |
| 023:057 | As for those who are in reverence from the awareness of their Lord. | Inna allatheena hum min khashyati rabbihim mushfiqoona |
| 023:058 | And they believe in the revelations of their Lord. | Waallatheena hum bi-ayati rabbihim yu/minoona |
| 023:059 | And they do not set up anything with their Lord. | Waallatheena hum birabbihim la yushrikoona |
| 023:060 | And they give of what they were given, and their hearts are full of reverence that they will return to their Lord. | Waallatheena yu/toona ma ataw waquloobuhum wajilatun annahum ila rabbihim rajiAAoona |
| 023:061 | These are the ones who race in doing good, and they are the first to it. | Ola-ika yusariAAoona fee alkhayrati wahum laha sabiqoona |
| 023:062 | And We do not burden a soul except with what it can bare. And We have a record that speaks with the truth, they will not be wronged. | Wala nukallifu nafsan illa wusAAaha waladayna kitabun yantiqu bialhaqqi wahum la yuthlamoona |
| 023:063 | No, their hearts are unaware of this! And they have deeds besides this which they are doing. | Bal quloobuhum fee ghamratin min hatha walahum aAAmalun min dooni thalika hum laha AAamiloona |
| 023:064 | Until We take their carefree people with the retribution, then they will shout for help. | Hatta itha akhathna mutrafeehim bialAAathabi itha hum yaj-aroona |
| 023:065 | Do not shout for help today, for you will not be helped against Us. | La taj-aroo alyawma innakum minna la tunsaroona |
| 023:066 | My revelations were recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels. | Qad kanat ayatee tutla AAalaykum fakuntum AAala aAAqabikum tankisoona |
| 023:067 | You were too proud from it, talking evil about it; and you defiantly disregarded it. | Mustakbireena bihi samiran tahjuroona |
| 023:068 | Did they not ponder the words, or has what come to them not come to their fathers of old? | Afalam yaddabbaroo alqawla am jaahum ma lam ya/ti abaahumu al-awwaleena |
| 023:069 | Or did they not know their messenger? For they are in denial of him. | Am lam yaAArifoo rasoolahum fahum lahu munkiroona |
| 023:070 | Or do they say that there is a madness in him? No, he has come to them with the truth, but most of them are hateful of the truth. | Am yaqooloona bihi jinnatun bal jaahum bialhaqqi waaktharuhum lilhaqqi karihoona |
| 023:071 | And if the truth were to follow their desires, then the heavens and the Earth and all who are in them would have been corrupted. No, We have come to them with their reminder, but from their reminder they are turning away. | Walawi ittabaAAa alhaqqu ahwaahum lafasadati alssamawatu waal-ardu waman feehinna bal ataynahum bithikrihim fahum AAan thikrihim muAAridoona |
| 023:072 | Or do you ask them for a wage? The wage of your Lord is best, and He is the best of providers. | Am tas-aluhum kharjan fakharaju rabbika khayrun wahuwa khayru alrraziqeena |
| 023:073 | And you are inviting them to a Straight Path. | Wa-innaka latadAAoohum ila siratin mustaqeemin |
| 023:074 | And those who do not believe in the Hereafter, they are deviating away from the path. | Wa-inna allatheena la yu/minoona bial-akhirati AAani alssirati lanakiboona |
| 023:075 | And if We were to have mercy on them and remove what distress was upon them, they would still return to persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. | Walaw rahimnahum wakashafna ma bihim min durrin lalajjoo fee tughyanihim yaAAmahoona |
| 023:076 | And when We seized them with the punishment, they did not humble themselves to their Lord nor did they invoke Him. | Walaqad akhathnahum bialAAathabi fama istakanoo lirabbihim wama yatadarraAAoona |
| 023:077 | Until We open for them a door of immense retribution, then they become in sorrow and despair. | Hatta itha fatahna AAalayhim baban tha AAathabin shadeedin itha hum feehi mublisoona |

| 023:078 | And He is the One who established for you the hearing, and the sight, and the hearts. Little do you give thanks. | Wahuwa allathee anshaa lakumu alssamAAa waal-absara waal-af-idata qaleelan ma tashkuroona |
| 023:079 | And He is the One who multiplied you on the Earth, and to Him you will be returned. | Wahuwa allathee tharaakum fee al-ardi wa-ilayhi tuhsharoona |
| 023:080 | And He is the One who gives life and brings death, and to Him is the alteration of the night and the day. Do you not comprehend? | Wahuwa allathee yuhyee wayumeetu walahu ikhtilafu allayli waalnnahari afala taAAqiloona |
| 023:081 | No, they have said the same as what the people of old had said. | Bal qaloo mithla ma qala al-awwaloona |
| 023:082 | They said: "If we are dead and become dust and bones, will we then be resurrected?" | Qaloo a-itha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman a-inna lamabAAoothoona |
| 023:083 | "We, as well as our fathers, have been promised this from before. This is nothing but the tales of the ancients." | Laqad wuAAidna nahnu waabaona hatha min qablu in hatha illa asateeru al-awwaleena |
| 023:084 | Say: "To whom is the Earth and whosoever is in it if you know?" | Qul limani al-ardu waman feeha in kuntum taAAlamoona |
| 023:085 | They will Say: "To God" Say: "Will you then not remember!" | Sayaqooloona lillahi qul afala tathakkaroona |
| 023:086 | Say: "Who is the Lord of the seven universes and the Lord of the great throne?" | Qul man rabbu alssamawati alssabAAi warabbu alAAarshi alAAatheemi |
| 023:087 | They will Say: "To God." Say: "Will you then not take heed?" | Sayaqooloona lillahi qul afala tattaqoona |
| 023:088 | Say: "In whose hand is the sovereignty of all things, and He protects while there is no protector against Him, if you know?" | Qul man biyadihi malakootu kulli shay-in wahuwa yujeeru wala yujaru AAalayhi in kuntum taAAlamoona |
| 023:089 | They will Say: "To God." Say: "Then why are you deceived?" | Sayaqooloona lillahi qul faanna tusharoona |
| 023:090 | No, We have come to them with the truth, and they are truly liars. | Bal ataynahum bialhaqqi wa-innahum lakathiboona |
| 023:091 | God has not taken a son, nor is there with Him any god. If it were so, then every god would have taken what He created and they would have tried to overtake each other. God be glorified against what they describe! | Ma ittakhatha Allahu min waladin wama kana maAAahu min ilahin ithan lathahaba kullu ilahin bima khalaqa walaAAala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin subhana Allahi AAamma yasifoona |
| 023:092 | The knower of the unseen and the seen. Be He exalted above what they set up. | AAalimi alghaybi waalshshahadati fataAAala AAamma yushrikoona |

| 023:093 | Say: "My Lord, if You show me what they are promised." | Qul rabbi imma turiyannee ma yooAAadoona |
| 023:094 | "My Lord, then do not leave me amongst the wicked people." | Rabbi fala tajAAalnee fee alqawmi alththalimeena |
| 023:095 | And We are able to show you what We promise them. | Wa-inna AAala an nuriyaka ma naAAiduhum laqadiroona |
| 023:096 | Push away evil with that which is better. We are better aware of what they describe. | IdfaAA biallatee hiya ahsanu alssayyi-ata nahnu aAAlamu bima yasifoona |
| 023:097 | And Say: "My Lord, I seek refuge with you from the whispers of the devils." | Waqul rabbi aAAoothu bika min hamazati alshshayateeni |
| 023:098 | "And I seek refuge with you O Lord that they should come near." | WaaAAoothu bika rabbi an yahdurooni |
| 023:099 | Until death comes to one of them, he says: "My Lord, send me back." | Hatta itha jaa ahadahumu almawtu qala rabbi irjiAAooni |
| 023:100 | "So that I may do good in that which I have left behind." No, it is but a word he is speaking. And there is a barrier to prevent them from going back until the Day they are all resurrected. | LaAAallee aAAmalu salihan feema taraktu kalla innaha kalimatun huwa qa-iluha wamin wara-ihim barzakhun ila yawmi yubAAathoona |
| 023:101 | So when the horn is blown, then there will be no kinship between them on that Day, nor will they ask for one another. | Fa-itha nufikha fee alssoori fala ansaba baynahum yawma-ithin wala yatasaaloona |
| 023:102 | So, those whose weight is heavy on the scales, then those are the successful ones. | Faman thaqulat mawazeenuhu faola-ika humu almuflihoona |
| 023:103 | And those whose weight is light on the scales, those are the ones who lost their souls, in Hell they will abide. | Waman khaffat mawazeenuhu faola-ika allatheena khasiroo anfusahum fee jahannama khalidoona |
| 023:104 | The Fire will scorch their faces, and in it their grin will be with displaced lips. | Talfahu wujoohahumu alnnaru wahum feeha kalihoona |
| 023:105 | "Were My revelations not recited to you, then you denied them?" | Alam takun ayatee tutla AAalaykum fakuntum biha tukaththiboona |
| 023:106 | They said: "Our Lord, our wickedness overcame us, and we were a misguided people." | Qaloo rabbana ghalabat AAalayna shiqwatuna wakunna qawman dalleena |
| 023:107 | "Our Lord, bring us out of it, and if we return to this then we are wicked." | Rabbana akhrijna minha fa-in AAudna fa-inna thalimoona |
| 023:108 | He said: "Be humiliated therein and do not speak to Me." | Qala ikhsaoo feeha wala tukallimooni |
| 023:109 | There was a group from among My servants who used to Say: "Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us, and have mercy upon us, for You are the best of those who show mercy." | Innahu kana fareequn min AAibadee yaqooloona rabbana amanna faighfir lana wairhamna waanta khayru alrrahimeena |
| 023:110 | But you mocked them, so much so that they made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them. | Faittakhathtumoohum sikhriyyan hatta ansawkum thikree wakuntum minhum tadhakoona |
| 023:111 | I have rewarded them today for their patience, they are indeed the winners. | Innee jazaytuhumu alyawma bima sabaroo annahum humu alfa-izoona |
| 023:112 | Say: "How long have you stayed on Earth in terms of years?" | Qala kam labithtum fee al-ardi AAadada sineena |
| 023:113 | They said: "We remained for a day, or for part of a day. So ask those who kept count." | Qaloo labithna yawman aw baAAda yawmin fais-ali alAAaddeena |
| 023:114 | He said: "You have remained for very little, if you knew." | Qala in labithtum illa qaleelan law annakum kuntum taAAlamoona |
| 023:115 | "Did you think that We have created you without purpose, and that you would not return to Us?" | Afahasibtum annama khalaqnakum AAabathan waannakum ilayna la turjaAAoona |
| 023:116 | So, exalted is God, the true King, there is no god but He, the Lord of the supreme throne. | FataAAala Allahu almaliku alhaqqu la ilaha illa huwa rabbu alAAarshi alkareemi |
| 023:117 | And whosoever calls on another god with God when he has no proof for such, then his judgment is with his Lord. The rejecters will never succeed. | Waman yadAAu maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara la burhana lahu bihi fa-innama hisabuhu AAinda rabbihi innahu la yuflihu alkafiroona |
| 023:118 | And Say: "My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and you are the best of those who are merciful." | Waqul rabbi ighfir wairham waanta khayru alrrahimeena |
