HENRY JANE, Esq.
[Post-Captain of 1825.]

Was an acting lieutenant of the Renown 74, bearing the flag of Rear-Admiral Sir John Borlase Warren, and commanded a boat belonging to that ship, at the capture of la Nochette French gun-vessel, two armed chasse-marées, and eight sail of merchantmen, laden with supplies for the Brest fleet, June 11th, 1800[1]. He was promoted to the command of the Indian sloop (after acting for some time in l’Observateur), May 10th, 1810; appointed to the Arab, on the Halifax station, July 5th, 1813; and advanced to the rank of captain. May 27th, 1825.
