ABBREVIATIONS AND TERMS
AS FOUND IN CATALOGUE MEASUREMENTS
| Note. Under the heading "Measurements" in this Catalogue are given the sizes, heights and lengths of each style. The first line of measurements under the style number refers to measurements of the garment above waist; the second line to measurements below waist. | |
| F— | Front. When appearing in the first line of "Measurements" it refers to the height from the waist line to the top of the garment at centre front. (Note—In garments carrying a clasp the clasp above the waist will be made ½ inch shorter than the front measurement given. In the Maternity Support the clasp extends only to the waist line.) |
| F— | Front. When appearing in the second line of "Measurements" it refers to the length from the waist line to the lower line of the plane of abdominal control. This measurement is referred to as the Centre Front Below Measurement. It does not include the extension below the plane of abdominal control, which varies in different garments. |
| TF— | Total Front. When appearing in the second line of "Measurements" it refers to the length from the waist line to the bottom of the garment, in the centre front. |
| W to BL— | Waist to Bust Line. The height from waist line to the fullest part of the bust curve in a brassiere-girdle or brassiere. (The bust line should not be confused with the top of the garment.) |
| W to T (ob)— | Waist to Top (over bust). The measurement in a brassiere-girdle or brassiere from the waist line to the top of the garment, over centre bust. |
| UB— | Under Bust. The height from waist line to the beginning of the bust curve in certain designs of brassiere-girdles and brassieres. |
| UA— | Under Arm. Height from waist line to top of garment at under arm. |
| B— | Back. When appearing in the first line of "Measurements" it refers to the height from the waist line to the top of the garment in the back. |
| B— | Back. When appearing in the second line of "Measurements" it refers to the length from the waist line to bottom of the garment in the back. |
| H— | 'Hip. Length from waist line to bottom of garment over side hip. |
| CB— | Center Bust. Height from waist line to top of garment at centre bust in girdles and corsets. |
