Versions of
St. Anne (1708)
probably by William Croft

This tune first appeared anonymously in the 6th edition of Supplement to the New Version of the Psalms, 1706, as a setting for Psalm 62. It gained popularity as a setting for Isaac Watts' hymn "Our God, Our Help in Ages Past", and was incorporated into works by several prominent composers. It was probably written by William Croft when he was the organist at St Anne's Church in Soho.
