The new index and setup edit

I originally found this setup on the index page:

This seems an interesting approach, but time consuming to implement. As an alternative, perhaps temporary while the above approach with smaller pages gets implemented, I have made the whole encyclopedia available. All the articles are there and individually tagged, the main drawback is that the individual pages, one for each of the 26 letters of the alphabet, are large. But it works as long as the browser can handle the somewhat large pages and all the tags. And perhaps at some point a bot can break the one-letter pages down into two-letter ones, remembering that the internal links will also have to be changed to handle two-letter addressing. new emphasis mark edit

The Gutenberg edition uses the grave accent (`) as an emphasis mark for pronunciation. It slants the wrong way compared to the mark used in the print edition, so I plan to replace it with a prime (′), proceeding alphabetically. I've done 'A' so far. The prime was not used in the Gutenberg edition, so it should be easy to replace it with something else if this is thought desirable. The prime is what we've been using in NIE and other encyclopedias that have pronunciation guides with emphasis marks. Library Guy (talk) 18:18, 3 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
