TOC resource

edit

The main resource I've been using for filling in the TOCs for volume 1 (and, hopefully, future volumes) is [FictionMags Index]. It's been incredibly useful for information on the illustrators, many of whom are very poorly documented elsewhere. Qq1122qq (talk) 12:40, 5 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

issues

They don't call themselves (the modern term) "Issues", they call themselves "Numbers".--RaboKarbakian (talk) 14:44, 21 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

I don't see that as a particular big issue (pun not intended), particularly as we are quite deeply embedded into using Issue at this point! It could be changed but it would involve a lot of shuffling around of pages and links. Qq1122qq (talk) 13:24, 25 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Main page changed to year-based view

edit

The main Strand Magazine page has been changed to a year-based view, similar to that of several other periodicals including Weird Tales. There are currently complete contents pages to the years from 1891-1895, and the aim is to eventually get these done up to 1900 (there's a lot of work involved in properly organising the contents pages). This should hopefully make it much easier to add links to the sporadic works that have been done in later issues (such as the Sherlock Holmes and P. G. Wodehouse material). I have now gone through and linked up all the completed work that I could find from later volumes of The Strand Magazine into the appropriate places within the new structure. Thank you to @RaboKarbakian for being the catalyst for this. It's good to be able to have links to all the good work that's been done on this project from the main contents page.
The next project I'd like to do is to include a 'Highlights' section for each year, highlighting any major new series or individual articles that appeared that year (alongside the long term project of writing up and linking the full contents pages). Qq1122qq (talk) 11:14, 26 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
