Won't link properly edit

@ShakespeareFan00: What's the problem? --Xover (talk) 16:00, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

White Fang/2 doesn't link back to it. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 16:01, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@ShakespeareFan00: How about this? --Xover (talk) 16:37, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
That works, but defeats the point of using the header= param in the pages tag, which SHOULD have worked. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 16:52, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@ShakespeareFan00: When you use |header=, ProofreadPage uses the Index: page as a table of contents for generating the next/prev links. It uses every link found there whose target is in mainspace (i.e. it ignores links to Author: pages). It also ignores the first mainspace link it finds because it assumes that to be a link to the work's main page. Since White Fang was not linked here, ProofreadPage instead ignored the first chapter link: meaning page /2 didn't link back to page /1 (but /3 should have linked back to /2). --Xover (talk) 17:15, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Always the little things :) - Can you link in the inter chapter pages and images ? ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 18:55, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@ShakespeareFan00: I'm not sure I understand what you mean? ProofreadPage will slavishly use the links it finds on the Index:, in the order it finds them. If you add a link there, ProofreadPage will use it. Conversely, all ProofreadPage is doing is inserting a {{header}} template with some of the fields automatically filled. Its meta-template is at: MediaWiki:Proofreadpage header template. If the automation doesn't do what you want then you simply provide the {{header}} template yourself with the values you want.

Also White Fang seems to be an unsourced version from somewhere other than the Index. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 16:02, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

@ShakespeareFan00: Hmm. Are there two distinct editions under /White Fang/*? If one is unsourced and the other scan-backed I would be inclined towards deleting the unsourced one to make room for the scan-backed. Or the subpages could always be moved elsewhere to keep them separate. --Xover (talk) 16:43, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
