The letter வை is both a noun and a verb.
வைகறைத் துயில் எழு.

வைகாசி மாதம் ஆற்றில் தண்ணீர்.

The river is in flood in May.
வைகுண்டம் என்பது திரு மா நகரம்.

That which is called Vaikundam is a very great city.

Those on earth who have not a body, have no occasion for salt.

While on earth salt, and a body, are indispensable.

Though destitute of personal beauty, clothing is needful, though destitute of money reputation is necessary.

He who lives as he ought in this world, will be ranked with the gods.

As a rule one saiva regards himself superior to another.

One vaishnava thinks himself superior to another vaishnava.
வையத்தில் தந்தையிலும் தாய் விசேஷம்.

On earth a mother is more serviceable than a father.
வையத்தில் தெவிட்டாத பொருள் அன்னமும் தண்ணீரும்.

While on earth the things which do not cloy, are rice and water.
வையத்தில் நல் வினையால் ஆகாதது தீவினையால் ஆகுமா?

May that which cannot be accomplished by good deeds, be accomplished by evil deeds?
வையத்து மனிதர் நாலு வகை.

There are four kinds of men in the world.
வையம் தோறும் தெய்வம் தொழு.

Worship God through all the world.
வையம் ஏற்றின் ஐயம் இல்லை.

When the whole world applauds one, his merit is unquestionable.
வையம் ஒத்தால் ஐயம் இல்லை.

Malice is of all forms of hatred the most pernicious.

The abusive have no happiness the forbearing, have no misery.
வைராவி துறவிகளில் விசேஷம்.

Among ascetics the vairávi is the most distinguished.
