ఓ O The fourteenth letter in the Telugu alphabet, which, prefixed to all vocatives, corresponds with the English interjection oh ; as, ఓరామా orama, Oh Rama ! ఓతల్లి O talli, Oh mother! . The connected form of this vowel (ో ) (O) affixed to the last word of a sentence, or to a single word alone, denotes ignorance or doubt; as నీవోవాడో nivovado, I know not whether it was you, or he. When it is added to the conditional form of the verb ending in తే te, the drutup- rukrutika affix న్ n, intervenes, and నో no, then represents the English phrases but if, on tbe contrary ;as, వర్షము కురియకపోతే జనులునశింతురు వర్షముకురిస్తేనో జనులు సుఖపడుదురు varshamu kuriyakapote janulunasinturu varshamuku- risteno janulu sukhapaduduru, If it does not rain, the people will suffer severely , but if it rains, they will be happy.

ఓడ oda. s. A ship, a vessel. ఓడకొడికంబము odakodikambamu, A main mast. ఓడరేవు odarevu, The seashore, or beach.
ఓడు odu, t?. 7*. To lose, to be defeated. 2. To be afraid. 3. To drop, or trickle out. s. Want of success, defeat. 2. A crack, chink, or hole.
ఓడించు odintsu, v. a. To defeat, to overcome.
ఓడిగించు odigintsu, v. a. To pour out all the liquid in a vessel, by turning the mouth downwards.

ఓపు opu, v. n. To be able ; to possess the power of doing. ఓపిక opika, Abstract nonn. Ability, activity, diligence,: assiduity. 2. Patience. ఓపమి opami, negative noun. Inability, indolence, laziness. ఓపలేనివాడు opalenivadu, A helpless, sick, or impotent man.

ఓలలాడు olaladu. v. n. To play, or sport, in water.
ఓలి oli, s. A marriage, portion, or dowry ; the peculiar property of a woman, given to her, at her marriage, by her father-in-law, or other relations. 2. A range or row.
ఓవరి ovari, s. Civility, politeness, respect. 2. A place of cohabitation. 3. A bush.
ఓసరించు osarintsu, v. n. To move aside.
ఓసరిల osarila, adv. Aside.
ఓసి osi, inter j. ! This particle is prefixed to the vocative case, or is used in other instances, when, we address or call females inferior to one's- self, among whom a wife is always included by the Hindoos.
ఓహటించు ohatintsu, v. n. To retreat, retire, or go backwards.
ఓహరిసాహరి oharisahari, adv. In confusion, or disorder. This is applied chiefly to the state of an army, when defeated.
ఓ హోయి ohoyi, interj. Hola ! ho !
ఓహోహో ohoho, interj. Denoting wonder.
