This template creates a standard format for presenting dates in Mommsen's History of Rome. The conventional year, given in the margin of the original, is presented in the flow of the text rather than as a technically awkward sidenote.
Usage edit
The template takes one parameter for the date Ab urbe condita and a second parameter for the date Before Christ.
{{AbUC|654|100}}yields 654 [100]
Additionally, u.c. and b.c. can be inserted by setting uc=yes and bc=yes respectively.
{{AbUC|654|100|uc=yes|bc=yes}}yields 654 u.c. [100 b.c.]
The first parameter is optional (for cases where only a marginal date is given):
{{AbUC||100}}→ [100]
