Usage

This template is for linking to an article within a periodical, such as a newspaper or journal.

Parameters

Mandatory

article Article name, as it appears in the text. You must give either this parameter or "direct_link".
periodical Periodical name (eg "The New York Times")

Optional

year Year (four digits)
month Month (numeric). By default creates links with no leading zero (i.e. 2 for february). To link to works using leading zeroes for month subpage names include the leading zero in the parameter (i.e. 02 for february). Leading zeroes in page names are not recommended.
day Day (numeric). By default creates links with no leading zero (i.e. 2 for the 2nd). To link to works using leading zeroes for day subpage names include the leading zero in the parameter (i.e. 02 for for the 2nd). Leading zeroes in page names are not recommended.
override_date Date (if not representable by month and day, for example "Summer"). Can be combined with year, which will be placed afterwards.
series Series number
volume Volume in which the article appears. If you use this parameter, the link will be formatted in a "Periodical/Volume XX" manner, rather than "Periodical/Date"
issue Issue in which the article appears. Volume must be given. If you use this parameter, the link will be formatted in a "Periodical/Volume XX/Issue XX" manner, rather than "Periodical/Date"
issue_rank Rank of the issue-level (e.g. "Issue", "Number" or "Part"). Defaults to "Issue" if not given. Enter the word "blank" to prevent any issue rank prefix, for example, for works with issues named by month.
- number Equivalent to issue, but also sets issue_rank to "Number".
issue_link Use "no" to suppress the issue-level link but show the text. This is for when there is no Wikisource page for the issue itself (e.g. it's part of the volume page instead), but the original has issues. Default: "yes"
issue_in_title Use "no" to suppress the issue-level in the title, but still show the text, or link (depending on issue_link). Default: "yes"
You must give one of "year, month and day", "year and month", "year" or "volume". If you give a date and a volume, the volume will be used for the link, and the date will be presented after that, in brackets and unlinked.

link Article page name (if different to the article title). The "article" parameter will still appear as the link text.
no_link Suppress the linking of the article. This is used when the article cannot be created at Wikisource for copyright reasons, but the article is still listed on the author or portal page.
direct_link Use this parameter if the article page is not in the periodical page hierarchy. This field is free-text, so you must add your own wikilinks, eg "[[Article title (NYT)]]". If you use this parameter, "link" and "article" are ignored. If you do not give "article", you must give this parameter.
display_periodical Overrides display of Periodical name (eg. pipes output of Sunset (magazine) to Sunset)
author Author of the article. This is a free-text field: use [[Author:]] links. This allows multiple authors more easily. This will be preceded by "By".
coauthor Co-author of the author. This will be placed after the author, if given, and preceded by "with".
editor Editor. Placed after the author and co-author and preceded by "ed.".
p Page (or start page)
pp End page (only used if "p" given)
section Section of periodical in which the article is (e.g. "Home and Garden")
copyright_until Year when copyright expires. If the work is still in copyright, the link is disabled.
renewal Renewal ID ("R" or "RE" followed by digits), if U.S. copyright on the material was renewed.
