Sir Sajjan Singh, K.C.S.I.; (1910); s. of Raja Ranjit Singh, K.C.S.I.; b. 1880; succeeded to gaddi, 1893; educ: Daly College, Indore; joined the Imperial Cadet Corps, 1903; Honorary Captain in the British Army; placed in charge of the State, 1898; m. the daughter of H.H. the Rao of Kutch, 1902; claims descent from the younger branch of the Jodhpur family and claims moral supremacy over the Rajput Chiefs in Malwa; area of the State, 1,130 square miles; population, 85,000; has a small force of cavalry and infantry, besides irregulars; entitled to a salute of 11 guns.
