The Monumental Inscriptions in the Parish Church of S. Michael, Coventry/Lectern
Lectern.
This handsome brass lectern was manufactured by Mr. F. A. Skidmore. Round the globe on which rests the feet of the Eagle are these words—
"Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God."
On the base is inscribed—
"To the glory of God and for | the use of S. Michael's Church | Coventry this lectern has been | placed in this chancel from a | legacy by the late John Royle | Solicitor of this City MDCCCLXVII."
